Special Effects Courses

Our War Gaming Pyrotechnic Special Effects courses are available to persons or organisations wishing to take the next step and introduce SFX to their own war gaming site or operations.

Pyrotechnic Battlefield Special Effects Course Modules (1) and (2) assist many Re-enactment and War Gaming groups utilise this training by providing them with the basic knowledge required to create their own theatre of war effects in a safe environment. (For security, this training course is only supplied to current members of recognised organisations and/or gaming site operators)

The specific instruction is accredited by a manufacture which helps reduces the chance of any accident through misuse, resulting in a claim upon the operators insurance.

Module (1) Safety Appreciation

The one day course will give you a good grounding in pyrotechnic principles, dangers and safety procedures associated with such activities including risk assessments to product safety. You will see test fired a variety of products which can be used to make realistic battle scenarios for film, TV, paintball, air soft, re-enactments or even air-show events.

Course objectives: To gain an appreciation of the basic safety considerations employed in the use of pyrotechnic products. To identify potential hazards, effective use of protective equipment and operating systems to fire devices safely. Gain Certificate of Attendance.

Enabling you to: See how these products are used with an understanding of the safety factors employed in operation. Supply to be an authorised customer of a reputable supplier. Gain reductions on your operators insurance. Enrol on more advanced courses - Module (2).

Module (2) Basic Special Effects

This one day course is a heavily hands on practical event. You will get to see and fire a variety of devices, culminating in a team effort in the preparation and firing of a final battle scenario. Filmed feedback is provided for your own assessment at the end of the day. A final edited version will be made capturing the end results of all your hard work throughout the course.
 
Course Objectives: See how these products are used in a “Specific Role” with an understanding of the safety factors employed in operation. To prepare and fire a live pyrotechnic “Battle Scenario” whilst identifying the potential hazards, and employing the use of operating procedures to fire devices safely.

Enabling you to: Gain hands on experience in creating spectacular safe visual Special Effects with pyrotechnic products. Advance on to Module (3).
